On this day 30 years ago, I unboxed my first Apple Macintosh - a Performa 5200! In an era dominated by Windows PCs, I was a ‘Mac Rebel’ and proceeded to play Star Wars: Dark Forces… #Apple #Macintosh
Gaming since the Atari age, Doctor Who Star Wars fan forever!

This is some hideously dystopian shit from a company that we absolutely should expect better from. This isn't the first time I've heard of this happening, either.

I like the Mac Pro as a concept,. but as an execution I think it's been horribly defunct for many years. Not disappointed to read @markgurman@mastodon.social latest that it's fallow. Apple's made it clear that there's no business for the expansion crowd - buy a PC and hook it up with the OS of your choice, but it *ain't* gonna be a Mac.
I have the honour that I have written several tools (txzchk, others) for the International Obfuscated C Code Contest [IOCCC] judges and co-developing several other tools (e.g. jparse, a JSON parser in C) with Landon Curt Noll, a founder and judge of the IOCCC . I'm also a five time winner of the IOCCC. I love dinosaurs, volcanoes (and all other natural disasters fascinate me as well) and space. I'm an avid reader, Tolkienist and a Second World War buff. I've loved bears since I was a baby.

@9to5Mac@mastodon.online ‘Last week, Apple introduced a new Edge Light effect on macOS Tahoe 26.2 beta 2, which adds a virtual light around the edges of the display during video calls.’
Good to know #Apple doesn’t give a toss about bricking devices. Clearly visual effects are more important.
Friendly local eccentric posting photos of #buildings, #architecture, #cats, #animals, #food, #urbanism, #cities, #landscapes, and other miscellany I find interesting.

It's not an Apple 2, it's a Wombat!
Apple's lawsuit against the company that sold this machine ended up going all the way to the High Court.
And Apple lost!

Interesting roundup comparing the benchmark performance of Apple's M-series chips since their introduction.
