"I've finally switched to the @Vivaldi browser. I've been using Firefox for as long as I've been on the internet, but the focus on AI means it's no longer the browser for me. Thankfully unlike Chrome, Vivaldi supports the uBlock Origin extension which is the most important extension for being able to browse the web nowadays."

I've had exactly the same experience! Migrated from #MacOS to #Ubuntu #Linux over the summer. #Firefox was the default browser. In my case FF had/has a huge memory leak that was left to fester for over a month. Looked around and switched to the #Vivaldi browser thinking I'd lose #uBlock--but (pleasant surprise!) there was no limitation on that or any other plug-in I have. 🙂

So far (less than a month) I'm very impressed and happy with Vivaldi. Recommended! 👍

Kagi's Orion browser delivers a modern WebKit browser as far back as Mojave and we do plan to enable High Sierra support as well. It's not easy, but we think there's value in doing this.

For those of you tolerating Liquid Glass and the quite horrific Safari redesign on mobile/tablet: Kagi’s Orion browser actually seems to be an awesome full replacement. No complaints so far. Easy access to tab management, no weirdly hidden buttons or menus you need to tap multiple times to see fully. As a bonus, it has built-in filter support as well as several great Firefox and Chrome plug-ins. And Kagi’s search is optional. In fact you have more search options than in Safari. #iOS #iPadOS #macOS

@cstross@wandering.shop Reminds me of the hoops I have to jump through to get #iso8601 dates in my #Debian apps via the `LC_TIME` environment variable and a bespoke `en_SE` “English - Sweden” custom locale. https://blog.carsoncheng.ca/2021/03/use-iso-8601-dates-in-pcmanfm-on-debian.html . This was the “easiest” solution I found in 2022 after exploring options to get #Firefox, #Thunderbird, and other apps to display YYYY-mm-dd HH:MM:SS style time stamps.

In #macOS, I think you just modify `System Preferences > Language & Region > Advanced > Dates`.
